Presenta México informe y propone

 

Se reúne el Comité Técnico Consultivo sobre Gestión Portuaria Sostenible y Protección Ambiental de la Comisión Interamericana de Puertos de la OEA.

Luis Iván Gallardo Álvarez, en representación de la Coordinación General de Puertos y Marina Mercante, presentó en el marco de la reunión celebrada el pasado 23 de julio, el informe de la representación mexicana y propuso ante los países miembros y en nombre del gobierno de México  “Crear un fondo para actuar en favor del medio ambiente en los puertos de las Américas”.

México preside el Comité Técnico Consultivo, CTC, sobre Gestión Portuaria Sostenible y Protección Ambiental de la Comisión Interamericana de Puertos (CIP) de la Organización de los Estados Americanos, OEA”.

Al presentar el informe de la presidencia, el director general de Fomento y Administración Portuaria, Gallardo Álvarez, representante de la Coordinación General de Puertos y Marina Mercante, CGPyMM, dijo que se suman esfuerzos de trabajo con otros países para recopilar información sobre prácticas exitosas que promuevan y faciliten la gestión portuaria sostenible.

Prueba de ello, resaltó, fue la pasada celebración del Día Marítimo Mundial de Norteamérica 2018, en Cozumel, Quintana Roo, donde se realizaron una serie de eventos con el fin de destacar el valor del transporte marítimo y la industria portuaria para el cumplimiento del convenio MARPOL, prevención de contaminación por los buques; la calidad del aire, entre otros.

Gallardo Álvarez destacó los alcances del Programa de Incentivos Portuarios y Eficiencia Energética de Right Ship, como propuesta para incentivar a los propietarios de buques de carga a reducir las emisiones de Gases Efecto Invernadero (GEI) y así contribuir a la preservación del medio ambiente.

El funcionario de la Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes participó en la reunión hemisférica de la Secretaría de la CIP, S/CIP, que convocó a líderes marítimo-portuarios de las naciones del continente americano durante el III Seminario Hemisférico sobre Legislación Portuaria: Legislación eficiente como fundamento para la competitividad, celebrado en Roatán, Honduras.

El Comité Técnico Consultivo sobre Gestión Portuaria Sostenible y Protección Ambiental de la CIP de la OEA, que preside actualmente México a través de la CGPyMM de la SCT, tiene por objetivo promover la administración portuaria sostenible, con iniciativas y actividades para el desarrollo portuario y la protección del medio marino y el entorno natural portuario.

The Advisory Technical Committee on Sustainable Port Management and Environmental Protection of the Inter-American Port Commission of the OAS.

Luis Iván Gallardo Alvarez, on behalf of the General Coordination of Ports and Navy, in the meeting held last July 23^rd, presented the report of the Mexican representation and proposed the member countries and on behalf of the Government of Mexico “the creation of a fund to act in favor of the environment in the ports of the Americas.”

Mexico presided over the Advisory Technical Committee, CTC, on Sustainable Port Management and Environmental  Protection of the Inter-American Port Commission  (CIP) of the OAS”.

The general director of Port Promotion  and Management , Gallardo Alvarez,   of the General Coordination of Ports and Navy, CGP and MM, stated that they were working together with other countries to collect information of successful practices promoting and expediting the sustainable port management.

As a result thereof, a meeting to celebrate the World Navy Day of North America 2018 was held in Cozumel, Quintana Roo, including a number of events to highlight the value of  sea transportation and  port industry in compliance with the MARPOL agreement, ship pollution prevention; air quality, among others.

Gallardo Alvarez insisted on the Port Incentive Program and Energetic Efficiency of Right Ship, as a proposal to motivate cargo ship owners to reduce emissions of Greenhouse Effect Gases (GEI), contributing to environment preservation.

The officer of the Ministry of Communications and Transportation took part in the hemispheric meeting of the Ministry of the CIIP, D/CIP, inviting marine-port leaders of the nations of the American continent during the III Hemispheric Seminar of Port Legislation: efficient legislation, fundamental  for competitiveness, held in Roatán, Honduras.

The objective of the Advisory Technical Committee on Sustainable Port Management and Environmental Protection of the CIP of OAS, presided over by Mexico through CGP and MM of the SCT, is to promote sustainable port management, including undertakings and efforts for the port development and marine protection and the port natural environment.
